review – escapologie cabernet sauvignon

This is a wine that makes you say, “thank God for wine,! At just $15 this bottle packs enough punch to make even the wino’s in our crowd happy!

It is fruity and bold but not vacume-your-cheeks dry. It has a smooth body and a healthy finish. That means it has enough flavour to have with your dinner.

It would be great with spaghetti, lasagna, roast beef, home made hamburgers or just expensive cheese and crackers! It suggests you drink it with short ribs or sharp cheeses on the back of the bottle. Whatever floats your boat!

If you are really new to wine I would say give this a go… but definitely have it with a meal. It is not a ‘jammy’ wine. What I mean by that is some newer, more marketed BC wines are really fruity and easy to drink. This one looks like a BC wine but if you look closely it is cellared in Vancouver but made from imported and domestic grapes. Not all BC wines are made of grapes grown in BC. Wineries buy grapes and make them into wines that they bottle themselves. We’ll talk about that another time.

The bottom line is this wine came in at 4.4 out of 6 and was the favorite of the night for 3 of our sippers. It was my second favorite and the number one red for me! I would buy this again for sure!
