The germans should stick to beer

Last night our wine club ventured to Germany. Well, we ventured to Nicole’s house and tried German wines. Kinda the same thing…

We tried Gewurztraminer and Riesling wines/ Six in total from Germany, two from BC and one from Australia for good measure.

Here is what I learned…

1) I don’t like Gewurztraminer or Riesling wines.

2) German winemakers are not a poetic bunch. The descriptions on the bottle lacked the romance of the French, Canadian or Italian winemakers.

3) There were a few drinkable wines but not a single one I would buy again.

I won’t review them individually as I don’t think it’s a fair deal for the wine. It’s just not my thing. Other ladies loved some of them. Some tasted like perfume to me. Not a great attribute.

On to the next country!!
