monday q&a – byow

Q: Can I bring my own wine to any restaurant in ton or just a few?

A: Last year the BC laws changed and you can bring your own bottle of wine with you to a restaurant now. It’s been a year since this change has been in effect and I have yet to bring my own bottle to a restaurant. Corkage fees, tax, what to do with your leftover wine and whether or not the particular restaurant you are heading in to allows your own bottle are all factors that play a part in your decision to BYOW.

So the answer is, YES, you can bring your own wine to some restaurants in Kamloops. But there is a little homework to be done on your part before you go. And you won’t be bringing any of Uncle Mort’s home brew. You are going to be buying it to sip it in a restaurant!
